The Victor Byrrh

This cocktail is a play on a drink that was introduced to me by John and Carl of The Victor Bar in Chicago. This libation is a simple mixture of Death's Door Gin and Byrrh Grand Quinquina that produces a very clean and balanced drink leaving only a hint of sweetness on the pallet. The quinine in the Byrrh pays homage to the quintessential gin and tonic and adds a familiar note to this cocktail.

Recipe:

2oz Death's Door Gin
1oz Byrrh Grand Quinquina

Combine Death's Door Gin and Byrrh Grand Quinquina in a mixing pitcher with ice and stir very well until the mixture is cold and has reached proper dilution. Strain into a cordial or coupe glass and garnish with a very long twist of lemon.
